By projecting silence into the city, changing perspectives and focus is the goal of the design. It intended to give a fresh view of the busy city, and create a contrast, to introduce an escape from the noise.
In this way, a mirror sign system reflects plain peaceful scenes such as empty sky or green weeds, to highlight the silent corners behind the streets. A delicate floating sign with the word "Silence" blend into the background, to remind people about the silence gently.
Volume is not the only essential elements in creating a soothing environment. The standard of a peaceful island should be carefully categorized. It includes many other factors such as the percentage of nature, openness of the place, and visitors flow rates etc.

The map intends to link these peaceful islands in the city together, to create routes and networks. It provides citizens another option, a far way to your destination but a closer way to your heart. It improves city wellbeing by visualizing a layer of silence. (Eindhoven, Netherlands).

Tactile Design & For All
Studio Boey is a design studio focused on tactile, inclusive everyday objects. Our work starts from touch—how hands move, how the body senses, and how people interact with objects beyond vision.
By designing from the perspective of blind and visually impaired users, we aim to create products that work naturally for everyone. Not as special solutions, but as shared tools that feel intuitive, calm, and human in daily life.
